As The Deer — Psalm 42

This super simple setting from Psalm 42 was inspired in part by the more reflective songs with responsive readings found in the Into His Presence collection. The short music musical refrain is intended to be used with the rest of the Psalm as a responsive reading (given with the score). I was able to try it out this weekend at our church camp (for which it was written), and it seemed to work fairly well–once people got comfortable with some of the rhythms.

There are only two parts, making this especially suitable for school or youth settings, or small groups with less confident singers. If there is enough interest I may develop a more traditional four-part version at some point.
